Abstract
The use of probiotics in livestock production has gained significant attention in recent years due to their potential benefits on gut health and overall animal performance. This research project aims to investigate the impact of probiotics on gut health in farm animals, focusing on their effects on the microbial composition of the gut, immune function, and animal growth performance. The study will involve a comprehensive review of existing literature on probiotics in animal nutrition, followed by a series of experiments conducted on farm animals to evaluate the effects of probiotic supplementation on various parameters related to gut health. Chapter one provides an introduction to the research topic, highlighting the background of the study, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the research, and definitions of key terms. Chapter two presents a detailed literature review covering ten key areas related to probiotics, gut health, and animal nutrition. This chapter will provide a thorough understanding of the current state of knowledge in the field and identify gaps in existing research that the present study aims to address. Chapter three outlines the research methodology, detailing the experimental design, animal models used, probiotic formulations, sampling procedures, data collection methods, and statistical analyses employed.
