Telemedicine, which involves the remote diagnosis and treatment of patients through telecommunications technology, has rapidly evolved in human healthcare settings. In recent years, there has been an increasing interest in the application of telemedicine in veterinary practice. This research project explores the opportunities and challenges associated with implementing telemedicine in veterinary care. The study begins with an overview of the background of telemedicine in the veterinary field, highlighting the current landscape and trends. The problem statement identifies the gaps and limitations in traditional veterinary care that telemedicine can potentially address. The research objectives focus on examining the benefits and drawbacks of telemedicine in veterinary practice. A comprehensive literature review presents ten key themes related to telemedicine in veterinary care, including the use of teleconsultations, remote monitoring, teletriage, teleimaging, and telepathology. The review also discusses the regulatory and ethical considerations surrounding telemedicine in veterinary medicine, as well as the technological requirements and challenges. The research methodology section outlines the approach taken to explore the opportunities and challenges of telemedicine in veterinary practice. This includes the selection of study participants, data collection methods, and analysis techniques.
