Abstract
The integration of telemedicine in veterinary practice has emerged as a promising avenue to enhance healthcare delivery for animals, offering a range of opportunities while also presenting unique challenges. This research investigates the use of telemedicine in veterinary practice, focusing on its opportunities and challenges. The study aims to provide insights into the current landscape of telemedicine in veterinary care, exploring its implications for animal health and the veterinary profession. The research begins with an exploration of the background of telemedicine in veterinary practice, highlighting the evolution of this technology and its growing importance in the field. The study identifies key challenges faced by veterinarians in adopting telemedicine and examines the potential benefits it offers in terms of expanding access to care, improving efficiency, and enhancing communication between veterinary professionals and pet owners. Through a comprehensive literature review, the research delves into existing studies and practices related to telemedicine in veterinary care. Ten critical areas are identified, encompassing topics such as remote diagnosis, teleconsultations, teletriage, telemonitoring, teleimaging, telepathology, telepharmacy, teleeducation, telemanagement, and legal and ethical considerations. The research methodology section outlines the approach taken to investigate the use of telemedicine in veterinary practice, including data collection methods, analysis techniques, and ethical considerations. Key aspects such as sample selection, data collection tools, and data analysis procedures are detailed to ensure the reliability and validity of the study findings. In the discussion of findings, the research presents a detailed analysis of the opportunities and challenges associated with the use of telemedicine in veterinary practice. Seven key themes are explored, including improved access to care, enhanced communication, increased efficiency, regulatory hurdles, data security concerns, technology limitations, and professional resistance to change.
