This research project delves into the crucial role of efficient inventory planning and control within government establishments, with a specific focus on the Ministry of Works and Transport in Owerri. Inventory management is a pivotal aspect of ensuring operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness in organizations, including government entities. This study aims to investigate the impact of effective inventory planning and control on the overall performance of the Ministry of Works and Transport in Owerri. The research methodology involves a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative analysis through surveys and qualitative insights through interviews and case studies. The data collection process will involve surveying employees within the ministry to gather information on current inventory practices, challenges faced, and perceptions of the importance of inventory management. Additionally, interviews with key personnel and case studies of specific inventory control strategies will provide a comprehensive understanding of the subject. The findings of this research are expected to shed light on the current state of inventory planning and control within the Ministry of Works and Transport in Owerri.
