Project Abstract

Abstract
Education is a crucial aspect of national development, and government policies play a significant role in shaping the teaching and learning processes in schools. This study aims to explore the effects of the national policy on education on teaching and learning in Nigerian secondary schools, with a specific focus on government schools. The Nigerian educational system has undergone several reforms over the years, with policies introduced to improve the quality of education provided in schools. However, the implementation of these policies and their impact on teaching and learning outcomes have not been extensively studied, particularly in the context of government secondary schools. Through a mixed-methods approach, this research will investigate how the national policy on education influences the teaching methods, curriculum delivery, teacher training, and student learning outcomes in government secondary schools in Nigeria.
