Project Abstract

Abstract
High-intensity interval training (HIIT) has gained popularity in recent years due to its time efficiency and potential benefits on cardiovascular function. This research aims to investigate the effects of HIIT on cardiovascular function in sedentary individuals. The study design involves a randomized controlled trial with sedentary individuals aged between 25-40 years. Participants will undergo a 12-week HIIT intervention consisting of cycling and running intervals. Measurements of cardiovascular function including heart rate variability, blood pressure, and VO2 max will be assessed pre- and post-intervention. The primary outcomes will be changes in cardiovascular function parameters, while secondary outcomes will include body composition and physical fitness levels. The study will also explore the potential mechanisms underlying the observed changes in cardiovascular function through sub-analyses of inflammatory markers and cardiac autonomic function.
