Cancer remains a significant global health challenge, with conventional chemotherapy often associated with adverse effects due to lack of specificity in targeting cancer cells. The development of novel drug delivery systems for targeted cancer therapy has emerged as a promising approach to enhance the efficacy and reduce the side effects of anticancer drugs. This research project aims to investigate the design, development, and evaluation of innovative drug delivery systems tailored for targeted cancer therapy. Chapter One of the project provides an introduction to the research topic, highlighting the background of the study, the problem statement, research objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the research, and definitions of key terms related to drug delivery systems and cancer therapy. The literature review in Chapter Two encompasses ten critical aspects related to current drug delivery systems, targeted cancer therapy approaches, nanotechnology in drug delivery, and the challenges faced in achieving effective targeted drug delivery for cancer treatment. Chapter Three focuses on the research methodology, detailing the experimental design, materials and methods, selection criteria for drug delivery system components, formulation strategies, characterization techniques, in vitro and in vivo evaluation methods, and data analysis procedures. The methodology aims to provide a comprehensive framework for developing and assessing the novel drug delivery systems for targeted cancer therapy. Chapter Four presents a detailed discussion of the research findings, including the characterization results of the developed drug delivery systems, in vitro and in vivo efficacy studies, pharmacokinetic profiles, toxicity assessments, and comparative analysis with existing drug delivery approaches. The discussion delves into the implications of the findings, the potential clinical relevance of the novel drug delivery systems, and future research directions in the field of targeted cancer therapy. Finally, Chapter Five offers a conclusion and summary of the research project, highlighting the key findings, contributions to the field of drug delivery for cancer therapy, limitations of the study, practical implications for clinical applications, and suggestions for further research. The conclusion underscores the significance of developing novel drug delivery systems for targeted cancer therapy as a promising strategy to improve the treatment outcomes and quality of life for cancer patients.
