Chronic pain is a debilitating condition that affects millions of individuals worldwide, leading to significant morbidity and reduced quality of life. The development and evaluation of novel drug delivery systems hold promise for enhancing the treatment of chronic pain by improving drug efficacy, reducing side effects, and increasing patient compliance. This research project aims to investigate the design, development, and evaluation of innovative drug delivery systems tailored for the management of chronic pain. The research begins with a comprehensive review of the existing literature on drug delivery systems for chronic pain management. This review encompasses various delivery routes, such as oral, transdermal, intrathecal, and implantable systems, highlighting their advantages and limitations in delivering analgesic agents effectively. The critical analysis of these systems forms the basis for identifying gaps in current approaches and sets the stage for developing novel drug delivery systems. The methodology chapter outlines the research design, materials, and methods employed in this study. It describes the selection criteria for drug candidates, the formulation of drug delivery systems, in vitro and in vivo evaluation techniques, and data analysis methods.
