Project Abstract

Abstract
The impact of automation on the performance of secretaries has been a topic of interest in the modern workplace. As technology continues to advance, there is a growing concern about the potential effects of automation on traditional roles such as secretarial positions. This research aims to explore how automation, particularly in the form of artificial intelligence and digital tools, influences the performance and job responsibilities of secretaries. The study employs a mixed-methods approach, combining surveys and interviews with secretaries in various industries to gather data on their experiences with automation in the workplace. The quantitative data from surveys provide insights into the extent to which automation has been integrated into their daily tasks and the perceived impact on their efficiency and productivity. On the other hand, qualitative data from interviews offer a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities that automation presents for secretaries. Initial findings suggest that automation has indeed changed the nature of secretarial work. While some secretaries view automation as a valuable tool that streamlines administrative tasks and allows them to focus on more strategic responsibilities, others express concerns about job security and the loss of traditional skills. The study also reveals a divide in the adoption of automation among secretaries, with younger professionals more inclined to embrace new technologies compared to their older counterparts. Furthermore, the research examines the implications of automation on the skill set required for secretarial roles. As tasks such as scheduling, data entry, and communication become automated, secretaries are expected to develop new competencies in areas such as data analysis, problem-solving, and technological proficiency. This shift highlights the need for continuous upskilling and professional development to adapt to the evolving demands of the workplace. In conclusion, the impact of automation on the performance of secretaries is multifaceted, presenting both opportunities and challenges. While automation has the potential to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in administrative tasks, it also necessitates a reevaluation of traditional job roles and skill requirements. By understanding the implications of automation, organizations can better support their secretarial staff through training programs and resources to navigate the changing landscape of work in the digital age.

Project Overview

There is a revolution going on in the office. The revolution is about development in technology in the use of automated machines.  The trust is about information processing which affects no other person than the secretary.  It involves new technology, new ways of handling and using these equipment modern offices are different from the old.  Research questions were formulated and made use of collection of data from respondent 30 questionnaires was distributed, while only 25 were returned.  Descriptive statistic method was used and analyzed using four points mean scale. A mean score of 280 and above will be considered significant (s) and below will be considered not significant (NS).  Automation has really enhanced the work of the secretary by ensuring greater speed and accuracy.  It was also found out that there is a need to send secretaries on training programs on the use of modern automation as this will be beneficial to the organization. The study recommended that all organization should be fully equipped with automated machines undermining the financial implication.
