Abstract
This research project is focused on conducting an appraisal of the activities and management methods of Anammco Workers Multi-Purpose Co-operative Society. The cooperative society, established by the workers of Anambra Motor Manufacturing Company (ANAMMCO) in Nigeria, plays a crucial role in supporting the financial and social well-being of its members. The study aims to evaluate the various activities undertaken by the cooperative society and assess the effectiveness of its management methods in achieving the desired objectives. The research will employ a mixed-methods approach, combining both qualitative and quantitative data collection techniques. Surveys, interviews, and document analysis will be used to gather relevant information about the cooperative society's activities and management practices. The study will involve members of the cooperative society, management personnel, and external stakeholders to gain a comprehensive understanding of the organization's operations. Key areas of focus in the appraisal include the financial management practices of the cooperative society, such as savings and credit facilities, investment strategies, and financial transparency. Additionally, the study will examine the governance structure of the cooperative society, including decision-making processes, leadership effectiveness, and member participation. The research will also evaluate the impact of the cooperative society on the socio-economic well-being of its members, considering factors such as income generation, social support, and community development initiatives. The findings of this research will provide valuable insights into the activities and management methods of Anammco Workers Multi-Purpose Co-operative Society. The results will help identify areas of strength and areas needing improvement within the cooperative society, offering recommendations for enhancing its overall effectiveness and sustainability. By understanding the experiences and perspectives of members, management, and external stakeholders, this study aims to contribute to the ongoing development and success of the cooperative society. Overall, this research project seeks to contribute to the existing knowledge on cooperative societies, particularly in the context of employee-owned enterprises in Nigeria. By examining the activities and management methods of Anammco Workers Multi-Purpose Co-operative Society, this study aims to provide practical recommendations for enhancing the organization's operations and promoting the well-being of its members.

Project Overview

1.0       INTRODUCTION

1.1   GENERAL INTRODUCTION

The population of this study is limited to the worker’s of ANAMMCO who come together of their own free will to form the ANAMMCO worker’s multipurpose co-operative society Ltd.  This is made up of people who voluntarily associated together as human beings on the basis of equality, for their social-economic interest.

Anammco worker’s multipurpose co-operative society limited has become co-operative that co-operation as a corrective measure to capitalism, has an ideological base that is rooted on democracy, caring and sharing.

The society was formed in August 11 1987 and was incorporated in 25 March 1988, with total membership of 415.  Activities of the society include: granting of loans to members, establishment of staff shop to sell commodities.

Presently, Anammco worker’s multi-purpose co-operative society has about 748 members, among them are 70 females and 678 males.

Anammco worker’s multipurpose co-operative society ltd has about N55,000,000 value of their Assets and N25,000,000 value of liabilities.

Co-operative as social economic society have their record books which they use to record all the financial transactions and the event in the society.  In Anammco multipurpose Limited, they use six record books among them are:-
