Project Abstract

Abstract
Libraries in Nigeria are essential institutions that play a crucial role in providing access to information and knowledge to the public. However, many libraries in Nigeria face challenges in generating income to sustain their operations. This comparative study aims to explore and analyze the various ways in which Nigerian libraries generate income to support their services. The research will focus on a range of income-generating activities employed by libraries in Nigeria, including but not limited to membership fees, fines for late returns, rental fees for facilities, and sales of library materials and merchandise. By comparing the effectiveness of these different income generation methods, the study seeks to identify best practices that can help libraries improve their financial sustainability.
