Abstract
Climate change is a pressing global challenge that is significantly affecting coastal regions around the world. Coastal erosion, a natural process exacerbated by human activities, is a critical consequence of climate change that threatens coastal communities, ecosystems, and infrastructure. This research aims to assess the impact of climate change on coastal erosion patterns, focusing on understanding the contributing factors and implications for coastal areas. Through a comprehensive literature review, field observations, and data analysis, this study investigates the dynamic relationship between climate change and coastal erosion, with a specific emphasis on identifying vulnerable areas and potential adaptation strategies. Chapter One provides an introduction to the research, presenting the background of the study, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the research, and definition of key terms. Chapter Two consists of a detailed literature review that examines existing studies on climate change, coastal erosion, and their interconnected impacts. This chapter explores ten key themes related to the research topic, synthesizing current knowledge and identifying research gaps. In Chapter Three, the research methodology is outlined, detailing the approach, data collection methods, sampling techniques, data analysis procedures, and ethical considerations. This chapter includes eight components that guide the research process and ensure the validity and reliability of the findings. Chapter Four presents a comprehensive discussion of the research findings, highlighting seven key insights derived from the data analysis and field observations. This chapter critically analyzes the impact of climate change on coastal erosion patterns, identifies trends, challenges, and opportunities, and discusses potential strategies for mitigation and adaptation. Finally, Chapter Five offers a conclusion and summary of the research project. The findings of the study are synthesized to draw conclusions regarding the impact of climate change on coastal erosion patterns and to provide recommendations for future research and policy interventions. This chapter also reflects on the significance of the research, its contributions to the field of geography, and the implications for coastal management and climate change adaptation efforts.
