Climate change is increasingly recognized as a significant global challenge with far-reaching impacts on various aspects of human life and the environment. Coastal communities are particularly vulnerable to the effects of climate change due to their proximity to the ocean and reliance on coastal resources for livelihoods. This research project aims to explore the impacts of climate change on coastal communities, focusing on a vulnerable region as a case study. The study will investigate the various ways in which climate change is affecting the social, economic, and environmental aspects of these communities and analyze the adaptive strategies being employed to mitigate these impacts. Chapter One provides an introduction to the research topic, presenting the background of the study, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the research, and definitions of key terms. Chapter Two conducts a comprehensive literature review, examining existing studies on the impacts of climate change on coastal communities, adaptive strategies, and relevant theoretical frameworks. Chapter Three outlines the research methodology, including the research design, data collection methods, sampling techniques, data analysis procedures, ethical considerations, and limitations of the study. The chapter also discusses the theoretical framework guiding the research and justifies the chosen methodology. Chapter Four presents the findings of the study, analyzing the impacts of climate change on the coastal communities in the case study region. The chapter discusses the observed changes in the social, economic, and environmental aspects of these communities, as well as the adaptive strategies being implemented to address these challenges. Chapter Five concludes the research project by summarizing the key findings, discussing their implications, and offering recommendations for future research and policy interventions.
