The relationship between development and food crisis in emerging economies, specifically Nigeria, is a critical issue that requires thorough examination. Nigeria, as a prominent emerging economy in Africa, faces significant challenges in achieving sustainable development while grappling with food insecurity and periodic crises. This research project aims to conduct a comprehensive appraisal of the nexus between development and food crisis in Nigeria, with a focus on understanding the underlying factors, dynamics, and implications for policy and interventions. The research will employ a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative analysis of relevant data on economic development indicators, agricultural productivity, food security metrics, and socio-economic factors with qualitative assessment through interviews and case studies. By integrating both quantitative and qualitative data, the study seeks to provide a nuanced understanding of the complex interactions between development processes and food crisis in Nigeria. One key aspect of the research will involve analyzing the impact of Nigeria's development policies and strategies on food production, distribution, and access. The study will examine how macroeconomic policies, agricultural programs, trade policies, and investment strategies influence food security outcomes in the country.
