The use of short service messages (SMS) has become increasingly popular among students, especially in the context of secondary schools. This research project aims to investigate the impact of SMS on English language usage in selected secondary schools. The study will focus on how the use of SMS influences students' language skills, including writing, grammar, and vocabulary. The research will be conducted in a sample of secondary schools where students are active users of SMS. Data will be collected through surveys, interviews, and language assessments to analyze the relationship between SMS usage and English language proficiency. The study will also explore the attitudes of students towards SMS and its impact on their academic performance. Through this research, we hope to gain insights into the potential benefits and challenges of using SMS in secondary education. Understanding how SMS affects English language usage can help educators develop strategies to leverage this technology for improving students' language skills. Additionally, the findings of this study can inform policymakers and school administrators on the implications of incorporating SMS into the school environment. Overall, this research project will contribute to the existing literature on language learning and technology integration in education. By examining the relationship between SMS usage and English language proficiency, we aim to provide valuable insights that can enhance teaching practices and student outcomes in secondary schools.
