Abstract
This research project aims to investigate the attitudes and practices of female secondary school students towards family planning in selected schools. The study will focus on understanding the perceptions of young women regarding family planning methods, their knowledge about contraceptive options, and the factors influencing their attitudes towards family planning. The research will employ a mixed-methods approach, combining both quantitative and qualitative data collection techniques. A structured questionnaire will be used to gather demographic information and assess the students' attitudes towards family planning. Additionally, focus group discussions and individual interviews will be conducted to delve deeper into the reasons behind the attitudes and practices observed among the students. The selected schools for this study will be chosen based on their geographical location and the willingness of the school administration to participate. A sample of female students from different grades will be selected to participate voluntarily in the study. Informed consent will be obtained from both the students and their parents or guardians before data collection. The findings of this research will provide valuable insights into the attitudes and practices of female secondary school students towards family planning. By understanding the factors influencing these attitudes, educators and policymakers can develop targeted interventions to improve young women's access to reproductive health information and services. Overall, this study aims to contribute to the existing literature on family planning attitudes and practices among adolescent girls in educational settings. The results will be beneficial for designing comprehensive sexuality education programs in schools and enhancing the reproductive health services available to young women. The implications of this research extend beyond the academic realm, as the findings can inform public health policies and programs aimed at promoting reproductive health among adolescents. By empowering young women with accurate information and resources, we can support their autonomy in making informed decisions about their sexual and reproductive health. In conclusion, this research project seeks to explore the attitudes and practices of female secondary school students towards family planning, shedding light on the factors that shape their perceptions and behaviors in this critical area of reproductive health.
