Abstract
This research project focuses on evaluating the effectiveness of different toothpaste formulations in controlling dental plaque. The study aims to compare and analyze the efficacy of various toothpaste formulations in reducing and preventing dental plaque buildup. The research methodology involves a comprehensive literature review of existing studies on dental plaque control and toothpaste formulations, followed by experimental studies to assess the performance of selected toothpaste products. The literature review in Chapter Two provides an overview of the current understanding of dental plaque formation, its implications on oral health, and the role of toothpaste in plaque control. Various studies on the active ingredients and mechanisms of action in different toothpaste formulations will be reviewed to establish a theoretical framework for the experimental investigations. The review also includes an examination of the factors influencing plaque formation and the importance of regular oral hygiene practices in plaque management. Chapter Three outlines the research methodology, including the selection criteria for toothpaste formulations to be tested, experimental design, sample collection procedures, and data analysis methods. The study will involve in vitro experiments using artificial plaque models to simulate dental plaque growth and assess the anti-plaque properties of the selected toothpaste formulations.
