Tele-dentistry, the provision of dental services using telecommunication technology, has emerged as a promising approach to improve access to oral health care. This research project aims to assess the effectiveness of tele-dentistry in providing oral health care. The study is motivated by the need to address barriers to traditional dental care access, such as geographic distance, cost, and provider shortages. Through a comprehensive literature review, the research examines the existing evidence on the use of tele-dentistry and its impact on oral health outcomes. The methodology involves a mixed-methods approach, including surveys, interviews, and case studies, to gather data from dental professionals, patients, and tele-dentistry providers. Chapter One provides an introduction to the study, presenting the background, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure, and definitions of key terms. Chapter Two comprises a thorough literature review that explores the current state of tele-dentistry, its applications, benefits, challenges, and effectiveness compared to traditional dental care. Chapter Three outlines the research methodology, including research design, sampling methods, data collection procedures, and data analysis techniques. This chapter also discusses ethical considerations and limitations of the research process. In Chapter Four, the findings of the study are presented and discussed in detail.
