Project Abstract

Abstract
Urbanization has led to increased impervious surfaces, resulting in higher volumes of stormwater runoff and reduced infiltration capacity, leading to urban flooding and water quality degradation. To address these challenges, this research project focuses on the design and analysis of a sustainable stormwater management system for urban areas. The study begins with a comprehensive review of existing literature on stormwater management practices, urban hydrology, and sustainable urban design principles. This literature review highlights the significance of implementing sustainable stormwater management systems to mitigate the adverse impacts of urbanization on the hydrological cycle and water quality. The research methodology involves a combination of field investigations, hydrological modeling, and hydraulic analysis to assess the stormwater management needs of the study area. The data collected from the field surveys are used to calibrate and validate the hydrological model, which simulates the runoff patterns and helps in designing an effective stormwater management system.
