Project Abstract

Abstract
MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are small non-coding RNA molecules that play crucial roles in regulating gene expression at the post-transcriptional level. Dysregulation of miRNAs has been implicated in various diseases, including cancer. In this study, we aimed to investigate the role of miRNAs in regulating gene expression in cancer cells, with a focus on understanding their potential as diagnostic and therapeutic targets. The research was conducted using a combination of bioinformatics analysis, cell culture experiments, and molecular biology techniques. Initially, a comprehensive literature review was performed to identify key miRNAs known to be dysregulated in different types of cancer. Subsequently, bioinformatics tools were utilized to predict the target genes of these miRNAs and assess their potential biological functions. Experimental validation was carried out by transfecting cancer cells with miRNA mimics or inhibitors and monitoring changes in gene expression using quantitative real-time PCR and Western blot analysis. The effects of manipulating miRNA levels on cell proliferation, migration, and invasion were also evaluated to elucidate the functional consequences of miRNA dysregulation in cancer cells. The results of our study revealed that specific miRNAs were significantly dysregulated in different cancer types and had distinct effects on the expression of their target genes. Furthermore, manipulating the levels of these miRNAs altered the behavior of cancer cells, suggesting a direct role in tumorigenesis and metastasis. Overall, this research provides valuable insights into the complex regulatory networks involving miRNAs in cancer cells and highlights their potential as biomarkers for cancer diagnosis and therapeutic targets. By elucidating the mechanisms by which miRNAs modulate gene expression in cancer, this study contributes to the growing body of knowledge aimed at developing more effective strategies for cancer treatment.
